Sibi: A final review meeting regarding preparations for the upcoming measles vaccination campaign was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sibi, Major (R) Ilyas Kibzai. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Sibi Mansoor Ali Shah, DHO Dr. Akbar Solangi, Deputy DHO Dr. Qadir Haroon, WHO Divisional Officer Dr. Jahangir, and other officials. During the briefing, the DC was informed in detail about the arrangements and targets set for the campaign.

According to the Health Department, the measles vaccination campaign will run from November 17 to November 29. During this period, children will also be administered polio drops. To ensure an effective and well-coordinated campaign, 23 fixed sites, 2 mobile teams, and 44 outreach teams have been deployed. Children aged 6 months to 5 years will receive measles vaccines, while polio drops will be administered to children from birth to 5 years. The campaign aims to vaccinate 34,000 children against measles and 44,000 children against polio.

An awareness event was also organized at Government Boys Model School, attended by DHO Dr. Akbar Solangi, Deputy DHO Dr. Qadir Haroon, District Education Officer Abdul Sattar Lango, WHO Divisional Officer Dr. Jahangir, UNICEF CCO Shabana, WHO DSO Dr. Naseer Kurd, M&E EPI Shoaib Khajjak, teachers, and a large number of students. Participants were briefed on measles prevention, and an awareness walk was held under the leadership of concerned officers.

Furthermore, local religious scholars highlighted the importance of measles vaccination and routine immunization during Friday sermons, urging parents to cooperate.

Deputy Commissioner Sibi Major (R) Ilyas Kibzai appealed to parents and the public to ensure their children receive measles vaccines and polio drops to protect them from dangerous diseases.
