Quetta: Commissioner Quetta Division Shahzeb Khan Kakar visited several major development projects across the city, including the newly constructed Trauma Center on Spini Road, the Main Nawan Killi Road project, and ongoing upgrades at FG Girls & Boys College Quetta Cantt. The visit aimed to review project progress and ensure timely completion.

He was accompanied by Secretary Implementation P&D Department Zeeshan Javed, Divisional Director Development Zahoor Ahmed, Additional Secretary Health Muhammad Saqib, Chief Engineer C&W Raheem Bangulzai, and multiple executive engineers.

Inspection of Spini Road Trauma Center

The Commissioner conducted a detailed inspection of the state-of-the-art Spini Road Trauma Center. Officials briefed him that the center is equipped with 120 beds, four operation theatres, a modern laboratory, and advanced medical facilities.

The project, costing Rs. 3.5 billion, is now fully completed and will be inaugurated soon.

Commissioner Kakar stated that this center will provide critical and immediate healthcare services, significantly improving emergency medical response for residents.

Review of Main Nawan Killi Road Project

During his visit to Main Nawan Killi Road, officials informed him that the road stretches 4.5 km, out of which 3 km of blacktop work has been completed, while the remaining segment is progressing rapidly.

The project’s total cost is Rs. 500 million.

The Commissioner ordered that the remaining work be completed by December 31, emphasizing that this road is an essential project and must be expedited to deliver better travel facilities to the public.

Visit to FG Girls & Boys College Quetta Cantt

At FG Girls & Boys College, Commissioner Kakar reviewed ongoing educational infrastructure upgrades.

Officials briefed him that the lecture halls, offices, and BS program block have been completed. Construction of the science block, costing Rs. 111.1 million, is underway.

Additionally, a multipurpose hall and sports facilities for female students are being built at a cost of Rs. 132.4 million.

The Commissioner instructed authorities to maintain high quality and ensure timely completion so students can benefit from a modern academic environment. The college administration and students thanked the Commissioner and the Implementation Secretary, noting that the BS program will greatly enhance access to quality education.

Commissioner’s Remarks

Commissioner Shahzeb Khan Kakar emphasized that the timely completion of these development projects will not only provide better facilities to the public but also reduce everyday hardships.

He directed all concerned departments to accelerate construction work and ensure all projects are completed within their stipulated timelines.
