Sibi: A meeting of the District Health Committee was held under the chairmanship of Sibi Deputy Commissioner Major (R) Ilyas Kabzai, attended by officers from the Health Department. During the meeting, a detailed briefing was given on the overall performance of district hospitals, BHUs, RHCs, and civil dispensaries, as well as the medical services being provided.

Medical Superintendent of the Teaching Hospital, Dr. Umair Hussain, reported that over 9,000 OPD visits were recorded this month, while DSM PPHI Mumtaz Ali Rind informed that OPD visits at all BHUs had exceeded 12,000. Approval was also granted to supply medicines to each health facility based on its performance and needs. It was further decided that a proposal for establishing a Trauma Center at the DHQ Teaching Hospital will be submitted.

The meeting also reviewed the proposal to hand over the MCH Center Karak and MCH Center Khajjak to PPHI.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of ensuring staff attendance and ordered action against absent doctors and employees, including salary deductions, explanations, and issuance of show-cause notices.

He appreciated the efforts of Deputy DHO Dr. Qadir Haroon in the EPI program, noting that covering over 625 under-dosed children was commendable. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that providing quality healthcare to the public is a top priority and urged all officers to perform their duties with full responsibility.
