News Desk: The Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (BUMHS) organized an Orientation Day ceremony on 20 November 2025 to welcome its first-ever batch of 350 students enrolled in newly introduced Allied Health Sciences programs, the largest intake of its kind in Balochistan’s history.
During the session, students were briefed on the scope of the programs, clinical training pathways, and future career opportunities in the rapidly expanding health sector. Experts said the induction reflects a major step toward closing the province’s long-standing gap in trained Allied Health professionals.

The orientation featured detailed introductions to multiple disciplines, including Physiotherapy, Laboratory Technology, Imaging Technology, Operation Theatre Technology, Dental Technology, Cardiac Technology, and other Allied Health programs. Faculty members outlined the academic structure, course modules, and clinical rotation system designed to equip students with hands-on experience.
According to the BUMHS administration, practical training for all Allied Health programs will take place at Civil Hospital Quetta and Bolan Medical Complex, enabling students to learn directly in real clinical environments.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shabir Ahmed Lehri said Balochistan faces a severe shortage of skilled Allied Health professionals, which has impacted hospitals, diagnostic centres, and rehabilitation facilities across the province. He said the initiative by BUMHS will “significantly strengthen the healthcare system while opening respectable employment avenues for the youth of Balochistan.”
A large number of newly enrolled students participated in the event and expressed satisfaction over the facilities and academic arrangements.
According to an official announcement, regular classes for the new batch will begin on 24 November 2025.
