News Desk: In a major boost to education in Balochistan, the Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC), in collaboration with Sukkur IBA University, has introduced the Reko Diq Scholarship Program, offering 50 fully funded scholarships to students from District Chagai who completed their intermediate studies in 2024–25.
This initiative aims to expand higher education access and develop skilled human capital in the region.
As part of its outreach, RDMC and IBA Sukkur have kicked off an extensive awareness campaign across Chagai. Information seminars were conducted in key locations including Humai, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Taftan, and Chagai town, where students and families learned about the scholarship and its long-term benefits.
During these sessions, participants received details about eligibility criteria, the application process, and the advantages of joining the program. IBA Sukkur will conduct a standardized aptitude test for applicants. Those who pass will begin a six-month foundation program at Sukkur IBA University, designed to strengthen academic skills and prepare students for university education.
The foundation course will help students qualify for admission not only at IBA Sukkur but also at other reputable universities and colleges across Pakistan, depending on their chosen fields.
Under this fully funded scheme, RDMC through IBA Sukkur will cover all academic expenses for four years, ensuring that deserving students from Chagai can pursue quality higher education without any financial burden. The program underscores RDMC’s commitment to youth empowerment, education development in Balochistan, and long-term community uplift.
The scholarship initiative was designed in consultation with Community Development Committees (CDCs), reflecting RDMC’s policy of working closely with local communities when planning social investment projects.
