Quetta: Provincial Minister for Education, Ms. Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, said that we live in a society where corruption emerges in various forms despite hard work and performance. She emphasized the urgent need to guide the thoughts of female students and the younger generation in a positive direction. She said that Pakistan is a blessing, a country founded in the name of the Kalima and created through the sacrifices of our forefathers. Today, it is our responsibility to base the nation’s development and progress on honesty and integrity.

She expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at Government Girls Postgraduate College Quetta Cantt, organized by the Directorate of Colleges & Higher Education Balochistan in collaboration with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan, on the successful conclusion of provincial-level competitions.

The Education Minister said that Islam provides us with a complete code of life, offering clear guidance in every aspect. If we correct our thinking and behavior, society can automatically improve. At times, a single sentence can change a life; she prayed that even one word spoken at the ceremony today brings positive change in the students’ lives.

Ms. Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani reiterated that the current provincial government’s policy is clear: eliminating corruption from the Education Department is its top priority. Under Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti’s vision, the government has taken practical steps to ensure transparency and merit in the entire system.

She stated clearly that no job in the Education Department has been sold, nor will it be allowed. All recruitment processes have been made transparent, with merit being the foremost criterion. The teachers recruited are selected purely on the basis of merit and capability.

The Education Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continue taking all necessary measures to eradicate corruption and promote transparency in the education sector, so that the younger generation can be provided with a better, cleaner, and stronger educational system.

It is noteworthy that these competitions were organized in collaboration with NAB Balochistan to promote honesty, transparency, creativity, and positive activities among students. Additional Director NAB Balochistan Imran Akhtar Majeed, Director Colleges Professor Muhammad Hussain Baloch, Joint Director Professor Sadia Niaz, and Principal Government Girls Postgraduate College Quetta Cantt Sadia Farooqi attended the ceremony.

Various speakers appreciated the performance of students, highlighting that such competitions play a vital role in nurturing positive thinking, moral values, and creative abilities among the youth. They emphasized that students are the nation’s asset, and everyone must work collectively to eliminate corruption to ensure Pakistan continues on the path of progress.

Students from across Balochistan participated enthusiastically in various categories, including Urdu speech, English speech, Urdu essay writing, English essay writing, poster making, painting, and creative writing. In the end, the Education Minister distributed prizes among students who demonstrated outstanding performance.
