CM to chair meeting of all stakeholders about local domiciles: Dr. Rubaba
Balochistan Must Protect Its Women, Says Dr. Rubaba Buledi

Qaseem Shah: On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, Adviser to the Chief Minister Balochistan on Women Development, warned that violence against women is not just an attack on individuals but a grave blow to the “intellectual, social and moral foundation of society.”

Dr. Buledi, known for her vocal advocacy on women’s rights, stressed that violence manifests in many harmful forms: domestic abuse, harassment, intimidation, humiliation, and economic coercion, each striking at the very core of a woman’s freedom, confidence, identity, and dignity. She noted that the suffering women face is often rooted not only in physical harm but also in deep-seated societal attitudes, discriminatory language, unsafe environments, unequal opportunities, and power imbalances.

She warned that when women cannot feel safe in their own homes, at workplaces, or in public spaces, the consequences ripple across the entire society, breeding instability, insecurity, and social imbalance. “No society can claim progress while half its population remains trapped in fear, pressure, or economic vulnerability,” she said.

Highlighting the broader moral responsibility, Dr. Buledi stated that a truly enlightened and civilized nation is defined by the safety, respect, and autonomy it guarantees its women. She reaffirmed that the Government of Balochistan is pursuing a zero-tolerance policy against gender-based violence, backed by stronger laws, institutional support, awareness drives, active helplines, functional shelter homes, and comprehensive assistance services for survivors.

While emphasizing the state’s commitment, she urged society at large to reflect, transform, and rise above regressive mindsets. “Lasting change is only possible when societal attitudes evolve,” she said, stressing the need to build a culture where every woman can live securely, confidently, and with dignity.

This clarion call, issued on a globally significant day, reinforces the urgency of collective action to protect and empower women across Balochistan.
