DALBANDIN: Security forces in Balochistan killed three terrorists on Sunday after a suspected suicide attacker set off an explosion at the main gate of the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in Nokkundi.
According to a statement from the FC Balochistan South spokesperson, the blast occurred when one of the attackers detonated himself at the entrance, triggering an immediate and effective response from security personnel.
The spokesperson said the attackers were associated with a group the state describes as Fitna-al-Khawarij, a term used for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Initial information suggests that the exact number of terrorists involved in the assault is still not confirmed. However, reports from the scene indicate that after one attacker detonated himself at the entrance, around six heavily armed terrorists managed to force their way into the FC headquarters. Intense gunfire was heard shortly after, pointing to a prolonged exchange between the attackers and security personnel.
In a separate incident, a security checkpost in the Gurmakan area of Panjgur district also came under attack. According to the latest updates, firing is still under way as security forces work to push back the assailants.
Authorities are still gathering information, and further updates are expected as investigations continue. As is often the case with developing incidents, early details may change. This report will be updated as verified information becomes available through official sources and credible reporters.
