CHAMAN – The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday recovered six anti-tank mines and a quantity of explosives during an intelligence-based operation near the Pak–Afghan border in the area of Chaman.
According to a CTD spokesperson, a terrorise group was attempting to smuggle the explosives into interior regions to carry out terrorist attacks.
Acting on credible intelligence, CTD teams launched a swift operation and successfully foiled a major terror plot.
Officials said the suspects had hidden the explosives in a remote location. No arrests were made during the raid, while the recovered items have been secured for further forensic analysis.
CTD, along with other law-enforcement agencies, has initiated a detailed investigation to identify and track down the network involved.
