Staff Reporter:

QUETTA — Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said that long-standing administrative ambiguity over law enforcement in the province has now come to an end, with the introduction of a unified system across all districts.

In a post on social platform X, Bugti announced that the A and B area categorization has been abolished and the Levies force is being formally merged into the Balochistan Police under law.

According to the chief minister, the move is aimed at establishing a single, clearer chain of command and ensuring consistent enforcement of law across the province. He said the decision would make state responsibility more defined while strengthening public safety.

Bugti termed the development an important step toward improving coordination, enhancing response capacity, and reinforcing the rule of law in Balochistan.
