QUETTA: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the performance of the Balochistan government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, particularly praising its efforts to promote development, strengthen law and order, enhance political harmony, and effectively address public grievances.
During his address to political leaders, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the leadership of the country’s armed forces, particularly commending Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir for steering national security efforts with professionalism and resolve. He said that the coordinated actions of security institutions have played a vital role in improving the law and order situation, especially in sensitive regions.
Referring to recent security operations, the prime minister expressed satisfaction over the progress made through intelligence-based actions, which he said have significantly contributed to countering militant networks and restoring public confidence.
He also recalled the role of the armed forces during last year’s military standoff with India, stating that Pakistan’s response had effectively safeguarded national sovereignty and demonstrated the country’s defensive preparedness.
The remarks were made during a high-level meeting in which Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan briefed the prime minister on ongoing reforms, progress in development projects, and key initiatives in education, health, governance, and public service delivery. The briefing highlighted that despite limited resources, the provincial government has ensured effective implementation of its reform agenda.
The prime minister appreciated the improvements in the law and order situation, noting the success of intelligence-based operations and security actions carried out in coordination with law enforcement agencies. He expressed satisfaction over the significant gains achieved in restoring peace, stating that joint efforts by the provincial government and security institutions have led to a marked improvement in the security environment across the province.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to fully support Balochistan in its journey toward development, stability, and public welfare. He reiterated that all available resources would be utilized to address the province’s challenges, complete development initiatives, and provide tangible relief to the people of Balochistan.
The meeting underscored the shared resolve of the federal and provincial governments to work closely for sustainable peace, improved governance, and inclusive development in the province.
