Islamabad: At least 15 people were killed and more than 80 others injured after a powerful explosion ripped through an imambargah in the Tarlai area on the outskirts of the federal capital during Friday prayers, triggering a major emergency response and nationwide condemnation.
Police and rescue officials said the blast occurred near the entrance of the worship site as large numbers of devotees gathered, causing panic and heavy casualties. Security personnel quickly sealed off the area, while ambulances transported the wounded to nearby hospitals including Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Polyclinic, and CDA Hospital, where emergency protocols were enforced.
