Syed Ali Shah: Quetta, February 7, 2026:

The Government of Balochistan has reappointed Mehta Kailash Nath Kohli as the Chairman of the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC), granting him one additional term of up to three years, according to an official notification issued on Wednesday.

The decision has been taken under the Balochistan Public Service Commission Act, 1989, read with Balochistan Ordinance No. I of 2026, after receiving approval from the competent authority. The notification confirms that the appointment has come into effect immediately.

The Balochistan Public Service Commission is responsible for conducting examinations and overseeing merit-based recruitment for provincial government departments. The continuation of Mr. Kohli in the top position is expected to provide institutional stability and ensure the ongoing reform process within the commission remains uninterrupted.

Sources in the administration say that maintaining leadership continuity at BPSC is considered crucial at a time when public sector recruitment is under close scrutiny and demands for transparency, efficiency, and fairness are growing across the province.

The reappointment notification was issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) and will be published in the next issue of the Balochistan Gazette.
