Staff Reporter:

The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has strongly rejected news reports published in certain newspapers regarding the Mines and Minerals Act 2025, terming them inaccurate and contrary to facts.

In an official clarification, the court stated that the reports published on February 27 misrepresented the actual judicial position. To ensure transparency and public awareness, the court has directed that the authenticated copy of the relevant court order be published separately so that correct information reaches the public.

The statement further noted that media professionals — including representatives of print, electronic, and digital platforms — have repeatedly been advised to obtain certified copies before publishing or broadcasting any court order or judicial proceedings.

The High Court emphasized that reporting on judicial matters without verification can mislead the public and undermine the credibility of the justice system. Media outlets have therefore been instructed to exercise due caution and avoid publishing unverified or speculative content related to court proceedings.

The court also warned against using judicial matters for personal publicity or disseminating information based on unconfirmed sources.

The clarification was issued by the Registrar of the Balochistan High Court.
