CHAGHI: The flow of people returning from Iran to Pakistan through the Taftan border in Chagai district continued on Saturday, with hundreds more arriving amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.

According to local authorities, 532 individuals crossed into Pakistan through the Taftan border from Iran in the latest batch. Officials said the group included 360 Pakistani pilgrims, 146 students, 24 deported individuals, and two foreign nationals.

With the arrival of the latest group, the total number of people returning from Iran through the Taftan border has reached 2,511, officials confirmed.

District administration sources stated that after completing immigration and security procedures, the newly arrived individuals were transported in convoys from Taftan to Quetta, where further arrangements were made for them to continue their journey to their respective hometowns.

Deputy Commissioner Chagai Jahanzeb Noor Shahwani said authorities at the border crossing are making full efforts to facilitate those arriving from Iran. He said the administration has arranged food, temporary accommodation, and other essential facilities for the returnees.

Officials added that the border administration, along with immigration and security agencies, remains on alert to manage the continuous movement of people arriving from Iran.

The return of Pakistani nationals comes as regional tensions escalated following military strikes linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, prompting many students, pilgrims, and workers to seek a safe return home through land routes.
