News Desk: The Balochistan High Court on Monday reviewed progress on key development projects in Quetta and directed the concerned authorities to ensure their timely completion.

A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Mullahkhel heard a constitutional petition related to the city’s infrastructure projects and sought an updated progress report from officials.

During the hearing, authorities informed the court that construction and rehabilitation work at Imdad Chowk and adjoining roads is ongoing under the Chief Minister’s development package for Quetta.

The court was told that the Ghahi Khan Chowk Flyover project has reached 98 percent completion, while construction work on the Customs Flyover has progressed to about four percent.

Officials also informed the bench that construction activities have faced some delays due to issues raised by local landowners. The court directed the Deputy Commissioner Quetta to resolve the matter to prevent further disruption to the development work.

The Balochistan High Court also instructed authorities to ensure the completion of the Sariab Road Service Corridor and submit a detailed progress report at the next hearing.

Meanwhile, officials informed the court that the Alamo Chowk Flyover project has been revised from a one-way bridge to a double-way flyover, with feasibility and design work currently underway. The court directed the relevant departments to expedite the approval and implementation of the project.

The court also ordered that restrictions on commercial activities and new constructions along the newly built roads from Hockey Chowk to the Sariab Railway Crossing on Zarghoon Road must remain in place.

The Commissioner Quetta and Deputy Commissioner Quetta were directed to ensure strict implementation of the court’s orders.

Officials from Sui Southern Gas Company informed the court that issues related to the relocation of gas pipelines have been resolved.

The court appreciated the efforts of government officials, the Additional Advocate General, and petitioner Advocate Syed Nazir Agha for their cooperation in addressing the matter.

The Balochistan High Court directed authorities to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing development projects in Quetta. The hearing of the case was adjourned until March 12, 2026, and the court ordered that the written order be forwarded to the Advocate General’s Office.
