News Desk: The principal of the Agriculture College Quetta has been suspended after reports of large-scale tree cutting at the institution surfaced on social media. Chief Minister Balochistan also took immediate notice of the issue, directing authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly.

Following the CM’s instructions, the Forest and Wildlife Department launched an inquiry. Today, the Deputy Secretary of Agriculture and the Divisional Forest Officer (DCF) Quetta City visited the Agriculture College to inspect the site. Their preliminary findings revealed that approximately 35 trees — including Quetta pine, mulberry, and other species — had been felled. Officials carried out a detailed on-site review and began collecting evidence.

According to the Forest Department, a comprehensive report is being prepared and will soon be submitted to senior authorities. Further action will be taken in line with legal frameworks and regulations.

The department stressed that no illegal activity concerning trees or the environment will be tolerated, reaffirming its commitment to effective forest conservation measures across the province.
