Gwadar: Two personnel of the Pakistan Coast Guards were martyred and another sustained injuries after unidentified armed men opened fire on a security check post in the Panwan area of Jiwani, Gwadar district, according to local police officials.

District Police Officer (DPO) Gwadar, Ata-ur-Rehman Tareen, said the attack targeted a Coast Guards checkpoint where gunmen carried out sudden firing. As a result of the assault, Naik Saleem and Sepoy Adnan lost their lives in the line of duty, while another official, Sepoy Azeem, was injured.

Law enforcement agencies, including police and security forces, rushed to the site immediately after receiving reports of the incident. The injured personnel was shifted for medical treatment.

Security forces have cordoned off the surrounding area and launched a search operation to trace the attackers. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the circumstances behind the attack.

The assault has raised fresh security concerns in the coastal region of Gwadar, particularly in the Jiwani area, where security forces remain on high alert following the incident.
