A significant development has emerged regarding the enhancement and restoration of medical seats for Batch IV students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A high-level meeting was held involving key stakeholders, including Mirza Muhammad Afridi, senior officials from the Health Department, representatives of Khyber Medical University, and student coordination leadership.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has issued a proforma to KMU to assess vacant medical seats across affiliated colleges.
Based on the submitted data, final seat allocation for Batch IV will be determined.
Reduced seats from University of Health Sciences are expected to be redistributed, with a focus on institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Expected Increase in Medical Seats
There is a strong likelihood that total seats will exceed 333, pending final approval from Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. The finalized proforma, to be submitted by KMU and Bolan Medical College, will play a crucial role in determining the exact number of restored and enhanced seats.
