Quetta: In a significant update for rail passengers, Pakistan Railways has announced a complete suspension of train services across Balochistan on March 27, 2026. The decision has been made due to urgent railway track repairs, maintenance work, and technical issues to ensure passenger safety and prevent any potential accidents.

According to railway authorities, the well-known Jaffar Express (Quetta to Peshawar) will not depart as scheduled. Similarly, the Peshawar to Quetta Jaffar Express will be stopped at Jacobabad and sent back. This disruption is expected to affect thousands of passengers who regularly travel between Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In addition, Bolan Mail (Quetta to Karachi) and the Chaman Passenger Train are already suspended. As a result, there will be a complete halt of railway operations in Balochistan for the day.
