The federal government has announced a sharp increase in petroleum prices, adding further pressure on consumers amid rising inflation.

Petrol prices have been raised by Rs137.23 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs458.40 per litre. Meanwhile, diesel has seen an even bigger jump of Rs184.49 per litre, with the new price fixed at Rs520.35 per litre.
