Khuzdar: Unknown armed assailants opened heavy fire on vehicles transporting relief machinery of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) near the Injira Cross area in district Khuzdar, causing damage to equipment and disabling multiple vehicles.

According to police sources, the incident occurred when a convoy carrying disaster response machinery from Karachi came under sudden attack. The attackers specifically targeted the vehicles and their tires, rendering several of them temporarily inoperable. Despite the intensity of the firing, no loss of life was reported.

Security forces and police rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the attack. The area was swiftly cordoned off, and a search operation was launched to trace the fleeing suspects.

Officials from PDMA stated that the machinery was being transported to Balochistan to enhance preparedness for potential natural disasters and emergency situations. While the equipment sustained partial damage, a detailed assessment is currently in progress.

Police have initiated a formal investigation, examining multiple angles behind the attack. Initial findings suggest the assault may have been intended to disrupt relief operations.

Security forces have placed the area on high alert, with additional measures in place to prevent any further incidents. Authorities have vowed to bring those responsible to justice at the earliest.
