Islamabad — The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has reached a significant milestone by signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading private sector developers to launch large-scale housing projects in Pakistan. The signing ceremony took place at the FGEHA office in Sector G-10/4, Islamabad, with senior officials, media representatives, and distinguished guests in attendance.

As part of this initiative, FGEHA entered into agreements with Saadat Enterprises (Rawalpindi) and Tameer Estate (Murree) for the development of modern residential and mixed-use housing schemes. These projects will be executed under the Joint Venture (JV) and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Rules 2025, ensuring efficient collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Key Housing Projects Details

The first project involves the construction of mixed-use apartments in Murree on approximately 196 kanals of land, with expansion potential up to 1,000 kanals. Located on Angoori Road, this project will follow a facilitator/regulator model, where FGEHA will oversee and regulate, while the private partner handles financing, design, and construction.

The second project focuses on a large housing scheme in Rawalpindi, covering around 1,400 kanals of land near Chakri Road and the proposed Ring Road. This development aims to provide affordable and modern housing solutions in a rapidly growing urban area.

Boost to Real Estate and Economy

Director General FGEHA, Capt. (Retd.) Zafar Iqbal, highlighted that these housing projects will:

Enhance urban infrastructure development

Create employment opportunities

Stimulate economic growth in Pakistan

Promote investment in the real estate sector

He reaffirmed FGEHA’s commitment to delivering affordable housing for government employees and the general public, emphasizing transparency, innovation, and efficiency through PPP models.

Vision for Modern Housing in Pakistan

These agreements mark a major step toward sustainable urban development in Pakistan, aligning with FGEHA’s vision of providing secure, high-quality, and modern residential facilities. The initiative is expected to open new avenues for investment and strengthen the country’s housing sector.

The event received wide media coverage, reflecting its importance as a landmark development in Pakistan’s real estate and housing industry.
