Quetta: The Establishment Division in Islamabad has issued a notification for the forced retirement of SSP Loralai Muhammad Zafar Buzdar over his alleged involvement in a drug supply and smuggling case, according to official sources.

Sources said the case surfaced in April 2025, prompting an investigation under special instructions from the Inspector General (IG) of Police Balochistan.

During the inquiry, authorities reportedly found evidence linking Muhammad Zafar Buzdar to the smuggling of narcotics from Loralai to the Gulgasht area of Multan using an official government vehicle assigned to him.

According to sources, a secret tip-off led to the inspection of the official vehicle, during which law enforcement allegedly recovered 1,000 grams of crystal meth (ice) and 2,000 grams of hashish.

The investigation further concluded that the accused officer allegedly supported drug cultivators in Loralai and misused official resources, including a government vehicle and administrative powers, to facilitate narcotics trafficking.

Following the completion of legal and departmental proceedings, the Establishment Division, Islamabad, has formally ordered the compulsory retirement of SSP Loralai Muhammad Zafar Buzdar, sources added.
