QUETTA : In a major counter-terrorism operation in Quetta, security forces successfully eliminated nine terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in the suburban areas of Kuchlak and Nohsar, officials confirmed.
According to government sources, the operation was jointly carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and other security agencies following credible intelligence regarding the presence of militant hideouts in the region. The successful action is being hailed as a significant achievement in the ongoing fight against terrorism in Balochistan.
Shahid Rind, spokesperson for the Balochistan government and Assistant to the Chief Minister for Political and Media Affairs, praised the professionalism, courage, and dedication of the security personnel involved in the operation.
“The CTD and allied security agencies deserve the highest appreciation for conducting a successful operation against terrorist elements,” Rind stated, emphasizing the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and security across the province.
Four CTD Personnel Martyred During Operation
Despite the successful elimination of the terrorists, the operation resulted in the martyrdom of four CTD officials who lost their lives during an intense exchange of fire with militants.
Paying tribute to the fallen personnel, Shahid Rind said the brave officers made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the country and ensure peace in Balochistan. He added that their contributions and sacrifices will always be remembered.
Injured Personnel Receiving Medical Treatment
Several security personnel were also injured during the operation. The Balochistan government has assured that the wounded officers are receiving the best possible medical care and treatment facilities. Authorities expressed hope for their speedy recovery.
Balochistan Government Reaffirms Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Terrorism
Reiterating its unwavering stance against terrorism, the provincial government vowed to continue decisive action against militant groups operating in the region.
“Terrorist elements will not be allowed to disrupt the peace of Balochistan. The state will utilize all available resources to eliminate terrorism and safeguard the lives of citizens,” Shahid Rind said.
Security operations against terrorist networks will continue across the province until lasting peace and stability are achieved, officials added.
