GWADAR : Four police personnel were allegedly abducted by unidentified armed men in the Gwadar district of Balochistan while transporting detained Afghan migrants for legal processing, according to police officials.
Authorities stated that the officers had been instructed to transfer a vehicle and its occupants to the relevant police station for further legal action. During the operation, communication with the four policemen was suddenly lost, raising concerns about their safety.
Shortly afterward, a photograph began circulating on social media, reportedly showing the police personnel along with their official vehicle in the custody of unknown armed individuals. The image fueled reports that the officers had been kidnapped.
Police officials also addressed claims circulating online that the officers were involved in bribery. However, preliminary investigations indicate that the constables were performing their official duties and had detained suspected undocumented Afghan nationals for transfer to the police station when armed men allegedly intercepted them and carried out the abduction.
Following the incident, special police teams were immediately dispatched to the area under the supervision of the DSP Jiwani. A search and recovery operation is currently underway to locate the missing officers and identify the perpetrators.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, while security forces remain on high alert amid growing concerns over law and order in the region.
