Web Desk: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Sunday visited Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi to inquire about the health of Dr Mah Noor Nasar, the victim of the recent acid attack in Quetta, and reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to her treatment and recovery.
During the visit, the chief minister received a comprehensive briefing from medical experts regarding Dr Mah Noor Nasar’s condition, ongoing treatment, and rehabilitation plan. He also met her family members and assured them that the Government of Balochistan would continue extending full support throughout her recovery journey.
Expressing deep concern over the incident, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the acid attack on Dr Mah Noor Nasar had deeply saddened people across Balochistan and Pakistan. He described the attack as a tragic act of violence and emphasized that the government stands firmly with the victim and her family during this difficult period.
The chief minister praised Dr Mah Noor Nasar’s courage and determination, calling her a symbol of resilience and strength. He assured her that the people of Pakistan are united in supporting her and praying for her swift and complete recovery.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to women’s safety, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said protecting women, particularly female doctors, healthcare professionals, and working women, remains a top priority. He reiterated that Balochistan has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against acid attacks, gender-based violence, and crimes targeting women.
He further stated that while the suspect involved in the acid attack case had already met his end, the government fully recognizes the emotional and physical trauma suffered by the victim and her family. He pledged continued efforts to strengthen women’s protection mechanisms and improve public safety across the province.
The chief minister reaffirmed that the Government of Balochistan will remain by Dr Mah Noor Nasar’s side until her complete recovery, ensuring access to the best available medical care, rehabilitation services, and all necessary assistance.
The Quetta acid attack case has sparked widespread concern about women’s safety and the protection of healthcare professionals, prompting renewed calls for stronger measures against violence targeting women in Pakistan.
