Quetta: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove has reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to protecting citizens following the terrorist attack in Hanna Urak, stating that security forces are conducting a comprehensive operation to restore peace and ensure public safety.

Addressing a press conference, Mir Ziaullah Langove said terrorists attacked the patriotic residents of Hanna Urak late Sunday night. He praised the courage of local residents, who resisted the attackers and forced them to retreat before security forces launched an immediate counter-terrorism operation on the directives of the Chief Minister of Balochistan.

The Home Minister confirmed that three terrorists were killed during the operation, while two Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF) personnel were injured in the line of duty. He added that a security checkpoint has been established in Hanna Urak and the operation will continue until the entire area is fully cleared of terrorists.

Mir Ziaullah Langove said the attackers intended to create fear and force residents to leave their homes, but assured the public that the Government of Balochistan stands firmly with the people. He emphasized that the concerns and sentiments of protesters are being respected.

The Home Minister further revealed that seven individuals were abducted during the attack, adding that security forces are on full alert and making every effort to ensure their safe recovery.

Mir Ziaullah Langove also said he personally visited Hanna Urak following the attack to review the security situation on the ground. During the press conference, he alleged that the terrorists are supported by India while using Afghan territory to facilitate their activities.

Highlighting the government’s response, the Home Minister announced that a committee has been formed under his leadership to engage with protesters and monitor the evolving security situation. He also warned that strict legal action would be taken against those spreading fake news and misinformation on WhatsApp groups and social media.

Reaffirming the government’s resolve, Mir Ziaullah Langove said protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the state’s foremost responsibility. He urged the public to avoid rumors, rely only on verified information, and continue cooperating with security forces.

The Home Minister concluded by stating that the Government of Balochistan will continue taking all necessary measures to restore lasting peace and stability in Hanna Urak and surrounding areas.
