QUETTA: Outraged citizens blocked the main Airport Road outside the B.A. Mall today, launching a major protest after violent clashes between local residents and unidentified armed men left one person dead and several others injured.
​The victim, identified as Nakeebullah, was killed during a heavy exchange of fire when unknown armed attackers targeted the Hanna Urak area. Following the killing, demonstrators marched to the city center and staged a sit-in on one of Quetta’s primary transit arteries, completely halting traffic to demand immediate justice and a decisive security operation.
​Violent Standoff in Hanna Urak
​The unrest broke out in Hanna Urak when a group of unknown armed men engaged in a fierce confrontation with local tribesmen and residents. The intense shootout resulted in multiple casualties, leaving several people wounded and claiming the life of Nakeebullah.
​In response to the security breach and the loss of life, a large number of local residents transported the victim to Airport Road. By staging the protest outside the B.A. Mall, the demonstrators aimed to draw urgent administrative attention to the growing threat of lawlessness in the area, refusing to clear the highway until the perpetrators are brought to justice.
​Senator Manzoor Kakar Rushes to the Scene
​As tensions peaked, Senator Manzoor Kakar visited Hanna Urak to meet with the grieving community and assess the situation. Addressing the locals, he expressed fierce solidarity and questioned why peaceful citizens were being subjected to such violence.
​”I will stand shoulder to shoulder with our people until the very last drop of my blood,” Senator Kakar declared. “What is our crime? We must be told why this is happening.”
​He urged the community to remain steadfast, promising that a concrete plan to eliminate the armed threat would be enacted immediately.
