Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has described the Balochistan Apex Committee meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Quetta, as a decisive milestone toward the elimination of terrorism, restoration of lasting peace, and a brighter future for the province.

In a statement issued after the high-level meeting, the Chief Minister said Pakistan’s political and military leadership reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to defeating terrorism and dismantling anti-state networks, facilitators, and all groups involved in activities against the country.

Bugti emphasized that maintaining peace and security in Balochistan remains the provincial government’s top priority. He said the Federal Government, Government of Balochistan, Pakistan Army, law enforcement agencies, and intelligence agencies are working in close coordination to ensure stability across the province.

According to the Chief Minister, the meeting reviewed the overall security situation in Balochistan, the counterterrorism strategy, intelligence coordination, border security, and ongoing operations against terrorist groups. Several key decisions were also taken to strengthen security measures and improve operational effectiveness.

He stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the government’s resolve to utilize all available resources to eliminate terrorism and restore peace in Balochistan, describing it as a national mission backed by all state institutions.

CM Sarfraz Bugti also praised the professionalism, courage, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. He acknowledged the joint efforts of the Army, Police, Levies Force, Frontier Corps (FC), and other law enforcement agencies in thwarting terrorist activities, safeguarding Pakistan’s borders, and protecting the lives and property of citizens.

The Chief Minister paid tribute to the officers and personnel of the armed forces, police, Levies, FC, and intelligence agencies who have sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism. He said the nation’s martyrs remain a symbol of courage, and their sacrifices have played a vital role in preserving Pakistan’s peace, stability, and national security.

Bugti stressed that terrorist groups and their facilitators are enemies of Balochistan’s development, prosperity, and national unity. He vowed that no leniency would be shown toward such elements and that legal action against them would continue with full force.

He further noted that the people of Balochistan have consistently rejected terrorism and extremism and will continue to stand alongside Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies in the fight against militancy.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting development projects, mineral resources, Gwadar development, foreign investment, education, healthcare, and employment opportunities from any attempts to undermine progress, adding that sustainable peace is the foundation of economic growth.

Concluding his statement, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the Balochistan Apex Committee had renewed its collective commitment to defeating every conspiracy against Pakistan, safeguarding national security, and transforming Balochistan into a province of peace, stability, development, and prosperity through coordinated efforts and national unity.
