DERA MURAD JAMALI: A remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near a police post in Dera Murad Jamali on Sunday, injuring one police officer, officials said.

According to police, the blast occurred near a police checkpoint when the remotely detonated explosive device went off. As a result, one policeman sustained injuries.

Police and security personnel rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the explosion. The injured officer was shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace those responsible for the attack. Police said an investigation into the incident is underway and further details will be shared as the inquiry progresses.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.
