By Our Correspondent: More than 100,000 Afghan refugees have received free medical treatment and health check-ups at the Afghan refugee camp in Chaman during the past 14 months, according to the Pakistan Red Crescent.
The organization said the camp continues to provide a wide range of humanitarian services, including free medical consultations, medicines, ambulance services, wheelchairs, children’s books and toys, and mobile phone charging facilities to support refugees during their stay.
Deputy Commissioner Chaman Habib Ahmed Bangulzai said the district administration is making every possible effort to ensure Afghan refugees have access to healthcare and humanitarian assistance on medical and humanitarian grounds.
He said the Chaman district administration is working in close coordination with the Government of Balochistan, the Balochistan Health Department, the District Health Department Chaman, the Pakistan Red Crescent, and other relevant organizations to maintain uninterrupted medical services and relief efforts at the refugee camp.
Bangulzai said the joint initiative is aimed at ensuring that every refugee requiring medical attention receives timely treatment and essential humanitarian support, while strengthening healthcare services at the camp.
The Pakistan Red Crescent said its medical teams have continued providing free healthcare services throughout the past 14 months, highlighting the sustained humanitarian response for Afghan refugees in Chaman.
