RAWALPINDI: Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Monday to discuss regional security, bilateral relations and defence cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, the evolving regional security situation, and ways to further strengthen Pakistan-Canada bilateral ties.
During the meeting, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir shared Pakistan’s perspective on global peace and regional stability, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and coordinated efforts to address shared security challenges.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand acknowledged Pakistan’s continued sacrifices and efforts in the fight against terrorism and appreciated the country’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing Pakistan-Canada relations and expanding cooperation in defence, security and other areas of mutual interest.
