News Desk: Three passengers were killed and three others sustained injuries after unidentified gunmen opened fire on a passenger bus travelling from Quetta to Karachi in Mastung district, officials said on Wednesday.
According to security officials, the attack took place near Goro in the Khad Kocha area along the Quetta-Karachi National Highway (N-25) when armed assailants targeted the moving bus, striking several passengers.
The deceased were identified as Inam-ul-Haq from Qila Abdullah, Syed Tariq Niaz of Karachi, and Liaquat Khan from Gulistan. The injured, identified as Najam, Abdul Hanan of Quetta, and Abdul Wali of Pishin, were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Security forces and rescue personnel responded immediately after the incident, secured the area, and transported the victims to hospital. Following medico-legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack. Security has also been intensified along the highway, while no group had claimed responsibility for the shooting at the time of filing this report.
