News Desk: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has launched an investigation into the Saranan police station attack in Pishin, registering a terrorism case after the police station was destroyed in an explosion on August 20.

According to CTD sources, the case has been registered under sections relating to terrorism, theft, explosives and the Explosives Act, along with other relevant provisions.

CTD investigation teams have collected evidence from the site and started probing the attack. No arrests have been made so far, officials said.

Authorities are also assessing the damage caused to the police station and checking records of missing weapons, vehicles, official documents and other equipment.

The Saranan police station in Pishin district was reportedly attacked by members of a proscribed organisation, who allegedly destroyed the building using explosives.

The investigation is continuing to identify those responsible for the attack and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
