QUETTA – Literacy is far more than the basic ability to read and write; it serves as the cornerstone of a prosperous future and a resilient society. Driven by this conviction, comprehensive Balochistan education reforms over the past two years have triggered an unprecedented transformation, dismantling systemic barriers and re-engaging hundreds of thousands of youth across the province.
​In a landmark overhaul of regional infrastructure, authorities successfully targeted Balochistan non-functional schools, reactivating over 3,800 ghost or abandoned sites while establishing more than 2,000 brand-new facilities. This rapid expansion of physical learning spaces directly addressed rural access gaps, enabling over 768,000 out-of-school children in Balochistan to re-enter the formal academic fold.
​To ensure expanded capacity was matched by quality instruction, the government completed a transparent, merit-based teacher recruitment in Balochistan, hiring over 15,000 educators to eliminate longstanding classroom shortages.
​Recognizing that economic hardship often cuts academic journeys short, financial safety nets were strengthened alongside structural expansion. Through targeted BEEF scholarships—administered via the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund—23,520 stipends were distributed to bright, underprivileged students to guarantee financial constraints do not stall learning.
​Provincial leaders reiterated that the goal remains absolute: ensuring no child in Balochistan is left without an education. Continued investments aim to secure an empowered, literate, and self-sustaining future for the region.
