Haseeb Khan: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has directed authorities to accelerate work on the Quetta Development Package, as officials reported that 12 projects have been completed, seven are currently under construction and five new schemes have been proposed for the provincial capital.
The chief minister issued the directives while chairing a meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat to review progress on development, beautification and civic improvement projects under the package.
Sarfraz Bugti ordered the concerned departments to speed up work on the seven ongoing schemes and ensure their timely completion, while directing that work on the five newly proposed projects be started without delay.
He stressed that all development schemes must meet the required standards of quality, transparency and implementation speed, adding that unnecessary delays would not be tolerated.
“Quetta is the face of Balochistan, and the development and beautification of the city are linked to the identity of the entire province,” the chief minister said.
He said the provincial government would utilize all available resources to make Quetta a modern, beautiful and well-managed provincial capital with improved civic facilities.
The chief minister also called for a comprehensive strategy to restore Quetta’s historical character and former beauty, with priority given to basic civic services, urban infrastructure, development and beautification projects.
Sarfraz Bugti said the government was determined to transform Quetta into a city where citizens could access better basic facilities while its historical and cultural identity was preserved alongside modern urban development.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Senior Member Board of Revenue Kambar Khan Dashti, Secretary Finance Jahangir Khan, Project Director Rafiq Baloch and other relevant officials.
