NUSHKI — Two police officers safeguarding a door-to-door vaccination team were shot and martyred in Nushki, Balochistan, official sources confirmed.
​Babar Yousafzai, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan on Home Affairs, condemned the violent attack, characterizing it as a direct strike against the children and future of the province. He attributed the violence to hostile regional terror groups, emphasizing that anti-state elements are actively attempting to sabotage peace, healthcare initiatives, and socio-economic progress in Balochistan.
​”Polio is a crippling disease that causes permanent disability in children, and vaccination remains our most effective defense against it,” Yousafzai stated.
“Those targeting health workers are trying to deny our youth their right to health and a secure future. Protecting our polio workers, who travel door-to-door to safeguard our children, remains a crucial responsibility of both the state and society.”
​Yousafzai reaffirmed the provincial government’s resolve to continue anti-polio drives despite security threats. He added that terrorist groups cannot derail efforts to provide Balochistan’s youth with education, healthcare, and stability.
​Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the perpetrators.
