QUETTA: Tensions have emerged among Balochistan MDCAT 2026 candidates after students raised serious objections to the answer key issued following this year’s medical and dental college admission test, alleging that several answers contain errors that could affect their scores and admission prospects.
The candidates held an emergency press conference at the Quetta Press Club on Thursday, where they demanded an immediate review of the disputed answers and greater transparency in the MDCAT examination process.
Speaking to the media, the students claimed that the MDCAT 2026 answer key issued by Bolan Medical College/BUMHS contains multiple incorrect answers. They said that if the disputed key is used to prepare the final result, deserving and hardworking candidates could potentially be affected in the highly competitive race for MBBS and BDS admissions.
Students demand publication of MDCAT question papers
A major demand raised during the press conference was the immediate publication of the complete MDCAT 2026 question papers and all four booklets — A, B, C and D.
The candidates said making the original question papers public would allow students, teachers and subject experts to independently examine the disputed questions and answers.
They also demanded that the authorities establish a transparent review committee comprising relevant subject experts to investigate objections submitted by candidates and correct any verified errors in the answer key.
Call to halt result until objections are reviewed
The students further demanded that the MDCAT 2026 result should not be finalized or issued until all objections regarding the answer key have been properly examined.
They appealed to the Government of Balochistan, Secretary Health and BUMHS administration to intervene immediately and ensure that the final result is based on a thoroughly reviewed and transparent answer key.
“We have worked throughout the year for this examination, and even a single incorrect answer can make a significant difference in the final merit,” the students said, stressing that transparency at this stage was essential for protecting candidates academic futures.
Students warn of protest and hunger strike
The candidates warned that failure to address their demands could lead to further action, including protests and a hunger strike.
They urged the concerned authorities to engage with students and resolve the issue before tensions escalate, saying their objective was to ensure a fair examination and protect the rights of all MDCAT candidates.
The controversy comes at a crucial stage of the Balochistan medical college admission process, where MDCAT scores play a key role in determining candidates eligibility and merit for MBBS and BDS admissions.
The allegations regarding errors in the answer key are being raised by the candidates and would require formal review by the relevant examination authorities before the disputed answers can be independently confirmed.
