QUETTA: A fresh controversy erupted at Quetta Airport after Balochistan Assembly member Zabad Reki alleged that FIA officials stopped him while he was travelling to Madinah and labelled him a “terrorist,” prompting him to raise the matter in the provincial assembly.

Reki said the incident was humiliating and amounted to a violation of his dignity and privilege as an elected representative.

Responding to the matter, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the manner in which Reki allegedly handled Pakistan’s passport.

“I strongly condemn the manner in which Zabid Reki threw the great passport of this country,” Bugti said.

The incident has triggered debate in the Balochistan Assembly over the alleged treatment of a public representative at the airport and the conduct of officials.
