Previous Earthquakes in Balochistan
Balochistan has experienced several earthquakes in recent months. In August, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake shook parts of the province, including Zhob and Chaman.
According to seismic officials, that earthquake occurred at a depth of 15 kilometres, with its epicentre located 122 kilometres northeast of Zhob. The tremors triggered panic among residents, prompting many to leave their homes and gather in open spaces while reciting verses from the Holy Quran. No casualties or property damage were reported at the time.
Earlier, in July, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake was felt in Quetta, Ziarat, Harnai and nearby areas. Residents rushed out of their homes as a precaution following the tremors.
Balochistan is among Pakistan’s seismically active regions, making earthquake monitoring and public awareness important for communities across the province.
