By Our Correspondent: A court in Chaman has granted a further seven-day physical remand of Awami National Party (ANP) Balochistan President Asghar Khan Achakzai in a murder case, allowing police to continue their investigation.

Police produced Achakzai before the judicial magistrate on Monday after the completion of his initial four-day physical remand. Investigators requested additional custody for further questioning, which the court approved.

Achakzai was arrested from the sessions court premises after his interim bail in a murder case registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) was dismissed.

Following his arrest, he was presented before the judicial magistrate, who had initially granted police four days of physical remand.

With the latest order, Achakzai will remain in police custody for another seven days as the investigation into the murder case continues.
