News Desk: The Balochistan government has created West Chagai as a new district, bringing Nokkundi, Taftan and Mashkel under its administrative jurisdiction, according to an official notification issued on October 28, 2026.

Nokkundi has been designated as the district headquarters, while West Chagai has been placed under Rakhshan Division.

The notification, issued by the Administration Branch of the Balochistan Revenue Department under Section 6 of the Balochistan Land Revenue Act, 1967, outlines changes to the administrative boundaries of Chagai and Washuk districts.

Under the new arrangement, Taftan subdivision and Nokkundi tehsil have been separated from Chagai district, while Mashkel subdivision and tehsil have been transferred from Washuk district to West Chagai.

Dalbandin will remain the headquarters of Chagai district, which will retain Dalbandin and Chagai subdivisions, along with Dalbandin, Chagai and Yak Mach tehsils and Char Sar sub-tehsil.

Washuk will continue as the headquarters of Washuk district, comprising Washuk, Basima and Nag subdivisions, their respective tehsils, and Shah Gori sub-tehsil.
