News Desk: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced a government job for the unemployed father of young chess talent Abdul Rehman, pledging support for the gifted child and his family.

The announcement came during a meeting between the chief minister and the young chess player in Quetta on Thursday, November 5, 2026, where the two also played a friendly game of chess.

Bugti appreciated Abdul Rehman’s intelligence, exceptional abilities and command of the game, presenting him with a certificate of appreciation and a cash prize in recognition of his talent.

During the meeting, the chief minister learned that Abdul Rehman belonged to a financially struggling family and that his father was unemployed. Taking notice of their circumstances, he announced that employment would be provided to the child’s father.

Bugti said chess and other intellectual games helped children develop critical thinking, strategic planning, patience and decision-making skills.

He said Balochistan was home to many talented children who could achieve recognition at national and international levels if provided with proper opportunities, guidance and encouragement.

The chief minister reaffirmed that the provincial government would extend all possible support to talented children and ensure that financial constraints did not stand in the way of their education, development and success.
