Tinted glasses of 3408 vehicles removed: DIG Police Quetta

QUETTA: The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Muhammad Azhar Akram on Wednesday informed that police removed tinted glasses from 3,408 vehicles in the city. Addressing a press conference, he said traffic police also fined 1,609 vehicles because of tinted glasses.
SSP Traffic, Saeed Gul Afridi, and other police officers flanked him on the occasion. He stated that police have also seized 115 non-custom paid vehicles. 44 illegal rickshaws also confiscated by traffic police, he added.
The DIG police informed that 11 cases registered in various police stations against the elements involved in land grabbing. “We have also arrested some elements of the land mafia”, he said.
Action has come after BHC issues strict directives
This action on the part of police has come after the Balochistan High Court (BHC) issued strict directives for taking action against vehicles with tinted glasses in the city.
“We have also registered seven cases in connection with aerial firing”, Mr. Akram mentioned. He said all concerned police stations strictly directed to take action against people involved in the aerial firing.
Accused involved in the murder of journalist confesses crime before the court
In response to a question, the DIG police informed that police have also arrested 2 accused involved in the murder of journalist Abdul Wahid Raisani. “Both the accused have confessed to committing a crime before the court of law”, he said. Although, he informed that one accused involved in the murder of the journalist was still at large and currently in a neighboring country.
Operation against drug peddlers under consideration
About the curse of narcotics, Muhammad Azhar Akram mentioned that an operation inside the main nullah was under consideration to eradicate the curse of narcotics from society. He said concerned police stations already directed to take strict action against the drug peddlers.
