Opposition parties block all key routes across Balochistan

Opposition political parties have blocked all key routes across Balochistan in protest over what they called the present government’s discriminatory policies. Opposition lawmakers have also established a protest camp outside the Balochistan Assembly against the provincial government.
“Balochistan government has completely ignored our constituencies”, Malik Sikandar Advocate, the Opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly lamented. He said the government has deprived almost half of Balochistan of its basic rights.
JUI F, BNP M and PKMAP workers block roads
Workers of the component parties of the opposition including Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (F), Balochistan National Party (Mengal), Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) blocked main highways across the province.
They blocked the Quetta-Karachi highway at Mastung, Kalat, Quetta-Chaman highway at various places and other national highways. The workers of opposition parties put stones in the middle of roads to suspend traffic. Common people remained the worst sufferers of the opposition’s blockade of roads.
“Our protest is for the people of Balochistan”, Akhtar Hussain Langove, the BNP M legislator stated. He said the people of Balochistan extended full support to the opposition’s strike.
Opposition accuses Jam Kamal government of ignoring their constituencies
The opposition has accused the Jam Kamal-led government of ignoring their constituencies in the public sector development program (PSDP). The charge vehemently denied by the government.
No untoward incident reported from any part of Balochistan during the protest by opposition political parties.
Strict security measures adopted across Balochistan to maintain the order
The government had adopted strict security measures to maintain the law and order situation. Levies and police personnel deployed at all national highways to maintain the law and order situations. The opposition workers removed stones and barriers in the evening and the flow of traffic on national highways restored.
