CHQ hospital: Nutrition stabilization centers established: Dr. Mandokhail

QUETTA: Chief of Balochistan Nutrition Directorate, Dr. Amin Mandokhail has said 2 nutrition stabilization centers established in the Children Hospital Quetta (CHQ) to provide better health facilities to children.
“Child play area, babies feeding corners also established in the hospital”, Dr. Mandokhail told Quetta Voice in an exclusive interview. A large number of parents visit CHQ hospital on daily basis for the treatment of their children. CHQ is the only health facility established in the heart of Quetta city through Germany’s financial assistance two decades ago.
He said the nutrition directorate of Balochistan was providing nutrition facilities at 184 sites to malnourished women and children across the province. The population in Balochistan is facing serious malnutrition problems. As per the statistics shared by the nutrition directorate, 47 percent of children are stunting.
Present government launched a number of projects
“Present government has launched a number of projects to address the issue of malnourishment”, Dr. Amin Mandokhail informed. The Nutrition Directorate has also established baby feeding corners, prays areas in Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta Airport, University of Balochistan, and courts in the province, he mentioned. Dr. Mandokhail informed that such facilities would also be provided in the Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University and other important locations.
The nutrition program was providing nutrition facilities in 20 districts across Balochistan to overcome the issue of malnourishment. The Nutrition Directorate established 184 nutrition sites at district headquarters hospitals, rural health centers and basic health units across Balochistan.
