CTD kills 11 ISIS terrorists in Mastung Balochistan

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have killed 11 terrorists associated with the banned Islamic State (IS) in Balochistan’s district Mastung on Monday night. Security sources said forces conducted a raid in Qabobarea of Mastung and killed 11 terrorists.
“The terrorists belonged to the IS”, they said. Security forces also recovered huge catch of arms and ammunition from the possession of dead terrorists. The dead terrorists were involved in a series of terrorist attacks in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan.
Terrorists compound also demolished: CTD Spokesman
Spokesman CTD in the meanwhile confirmed the operation and said the terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire with security forces. The compound of the terrorists was also demolished during the operation. “Major terror bid foiled in Mastung, the Spokesman said. He said the dead terrorists were planning to carry out major subversive activities when forces timely retaliated.
Case also registered at CTD police station against the terrorists.
Mastung, the most sensitive district
Mastung is considered to be one of the most sensitive districts of Balochistan. Outlawed militant organizations have carried out attacks against security forces and ethnic Hazara Shia minority during the last two decades.
On July 13, 2018, a deadly suicide bombing claimed around 150 lives including the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader, Nawabzada Siraj Raisani. The IS-K had claimed the responsibility for the attack.
