Veteran journalist Rahimullah Yousafzai passes away

PESHAWAR: Veteran journalist, Rahimullah Yousafzai breathed his last on Thursday. The senior journalist died because of protracted illness, Mushtaq Yousafzai, one of the close relatives of late Yousafzai tweeted.

Rahimullah Yousafzai was considered to be one of the most senior journalists across the country. He was also famous for his analysis on BBC, VOA, and Mashaal radios about unfolding events in neighboring Afghanistan.

“I lost a mentor”, Ismail Khan, the Resident Editor Dawn tweeted. Zia ur Rehman, another journalist working with the TheNews international also expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Rahimullah Yousafzai.

Late Yousafzai was born on September 10, 1954. He became in the international limelight after interviewing Osama Bin Laden, the Al Qaeda Chief.

In recognition of his services for the profession of journalism, the Federal Government had awarded Tamgha e Imtiaz in 2004.
