Students protest in Quetta as PMC decides to conduct post-exam analysis

Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has decided to conduct a post-exam analysis of medical tests as students staged protest demonstrations in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province.
“PMC would conduct post-exam analysis of medical tests”, Dr. Faisal Sultan, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on health said. He informed that the responsibility of the analysis has been handed over to the Quaid e Azam University.
Dr. Sultan stated that the major reason behind this was to ensure transparency in the tests conducted by the PMC.
Quetta students continue to protest against PMC
Students in Quetta also staged a protest demonstration against the PMC on Monday evening. Students reached the red zone area of the provincial capital and blocked the road. The students were demanding the cancellation of the tests conducted by the PMC.
Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan assured the protesters that the government has twice taken up the issue of protest with PMC. He said the grievances of the students would be addressed on a priority basis.
Shahwani addressed the students and urged them to end the protest. The students chanted full-throated slogans in support of their demands. Several students were injured when police stopped them from entering the red zone area of the provincial capital. Political parties, civil society had lashed out at the government for using force against the students.
Jam Kamal assures addressing the grievances of students of Balochistan
Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has also taken to social media network Twitter and announced that the grievances of the protesting students would be addressed. He said the government has already taken up the issue of students with the PMC.
However, the students announced to continue their protest despite repeated assurances by the provincial government.
